Help My Dad Get the Kidney Transplant He Desperately Needs

Hello everyone,

My name is Michelle Mefford, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of my incredible father, Mark Mefford a Veteran of the Air National Guard. Unfortunately, my dad has been battling kidney disease, and he now urgently needs an A+ kidney transplant.

Despite his unwavering spirit, my dad's health has been deteriorating. His kidneys are no longer functioning properly, and he spends countless hours each week undergoing dialysis. The doctors have informed us that a kidney transplant is his only chance for a healthier and longer life. Finding a matching A+ kidney is a challenging process, and the medical expenses associated with the transplant are overwhelming.

**Update: July 2024**

We wanted to share an important update about my dads journey. On June 20th, my dad underwent back surgery, which was a significant step in alleviating pain. While he is recovering from the surgery, he has also started receiving iron infusions to address some additional health needs.

We deeply appreciate the support and generosity from everyone so far. Your contributions have made a tremendous difference in my dads journey towards better health. As we continue to navigate these medical challenges, your continued support and prayers mean the world to us.

**Update: March 2025**

I wanted to share an update on my dad’s health. Recently, he was hospitalized with pericarditis and pneumonia, which was a difficult setback for him. Thankfully, he is now out of the hospital and slowly recovering. It’s been a tough road, but he continues to stay strong and hopeful.
