Stewart family support needed post Lung Transplant

Story

Hi, my name is Mary McKenney and I am raising money for my Uncle Jim, who was admitted to the hospital with COVID pneumonia on September 12, 2021. He, along with my Aunt Bonnie and cousin, Shaeleigh, came down with COVID-19 around the same time while in Lynchburg, VA where Shaeleigh goes to college at Liberty University. Bonnie and Shaeleigh recovered well, while COVID attacked Jim’s lungs and therefore he was put on a ventilator. As a result of ongoing prayers and divine intervention, he was airlifted to UVA Medical Center on October 1st, 2021, which we believe saved his life. My Uncle has remained at UVA in ICU for the past 4 months and has faced many complications and setbacks along the way. Thankfully Jim is a US Navy Veteran, so the VA has covered most of his ICU hospitalization; however, his Drs. foresee months of rehab in an acute care hospital and ongoing rehab at home, which the VA does not cover. Jim is getting stronger every day, yet he remains in ICU and is ventilated due to severe lung damage. Those of you that are lucky enough to know Jim and the Stewart family know how special they are, Jim has the biggest heart and is the most caring person. Now it’s our turn to care for them in this hard time. Your prayers and/or your financial support for Jim and his family are greatly appreciated.
