El Club Deportivo & Cultural Rafaelin Hernandez is the sister club of Boss Cle Volleyball Club in the Dominican Republic
Boss Cle’s support of El Club Deportivo & Cultural Rafaelin Hernandez started with Ariana Hueter, who is member of the Boss Cle U16-1 Black National and has played for Boss Cle since 2021. Ariana’s mother is from Dominican Republic and grew up in a town called Neiba (Neyba), located in the southwestern part of the Dominican Republic. Ariana’s parents, John & Quilma Hueter, met and married while her father was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Dominican Republic (1989-1993).
El Club Deportivo & Cultural Rafaelin Hernandez Volleyball program was founded in 1997 and is run by Eugenia Perez Diaz. Eugenia is a lifelong friend of Ariana’s mother, and her daughter was the flower girl in Ariana’s parents’ wedding.
The club is named after Rafaelin Hernandez. He was a sports legend in Neiba (Neyba) who played, supported and organized basketball and volleyball. His first love was volleyball. He helped the club in its founding and coaching, working closely with Eugenia. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 52 in 2012.
