We are 13-21-year-old students in the Los Angeles area. As students in America, we are exposed to some of the finest education. We have access to multiple technological devices, materials, and more to assist us in receiving a good education. Although, youth in Armenia wouldn’t be able to say the same. Many students cannot afford the required materials or do not have access to an adequate environment that would largely impact their learning.
According to the latest news from Myasnik Israelyan, a current advocate in Armenia who supports extremely poor communities, says that schools are in desperate need of help. Students lack appropriate school materials and supplies. Many schools don't have bathrooms, and children have dug holes outside to utilize. Other schools are old and cannot be used due to the possibility of them falling apart at any moment. Some villages do not have schools so children do not attend, or have to walk to their neighboring village every day. Other schools are missing grade levels and have teachers teaching multiple subjects. Another school has shattered and broken windows that prevent students from attending school in the fall and winter, due to the extreme weather conditions.
Our organization will be focusing on different communities one by one, to make sure that all their needs are met. This specific donation page is to be able to gather money from the diaspora all around the world. We will be utilizing the money collected for different projects, and goals that we wish to accomplish. We will also be publicly posting our receipts so that donators can be assured that all funds raised are going to the cause.
As already mentioned, the future of Armenia is all dependent on the education that youth receives today, which is why we must act now. It is our responsibility, as Armenians to help out these children. Our mission is for there to be no differences in opportunities, as every child deserves a quality education and students cannot receive this when instead of focusing on their work, they have to worry about whether or not their school will come crashing down on them. We plan to do this through a variety of organized fundraising methods. We hope that with the support of the rest of the diaspora, we can make a change. A change that can impact children. A change that we will see in the future, immortal Armenia.
