Help Improve Democracy Here and Everywhere!

I am Dirk Huizenga, born and raised in the United States of America. After traveling around the world a bit, I realized that this country is one of the best on the planet. Recently I have watched democracy in the United States gradually wither away because of political war between the parties. The rule of law is being disregarded by some of our representatives and candidates. I tried joining a political party to make a difference and have a voice to no avail. After many years of searching for solutions, I have come to realize that my government is not working for me any more. So I started Denver Center for Democracy to research and implement solutions to improve democracy for me and everyone else.
Here are several things I am working on:
- Educate citizens about government, how it works, and how important it is to vote;
- Create a digital platform for citizens to interact, exchange information, and organize without a profit motive;
- Create a system for citizens to directly interact with their representatives
- Make sure government (local, national, and worldwide) is operating in a effective and transparent manner.
I have been doing this part-time for several years, but it needs more of my time and energy to make this happen. I have created a 501(c)(3) public charity to accomplish the goals listed above. Check out my web site Denver Center for Democracy for more information.
