Help Imogen Fund Her Philanthropic Efforts In Healthcare!
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Imogen O’Reilly and I am a pre-med and human biology major graduating from Michigan State University this Spring. I applied for and was recently accepted into the Atlantis Fellowship Program for pre-med students. The program is highly selective and will allow me to shadow doctors in Europe and Africa this summer to learn more about different health care systems, the challenges they face and many medical specialties.
I will donate most of my time in Cape Verde, a small archipelago of islands off the West Coast of Africa. The public hospital where I will shadow is small and under resourced on multiple levels; it offers a very different experience than shadowing in the US or many European countries - which is exactly what drew me to it. In Europe, I will be in a rural area of the Lombardy region in northern Italy. This experience differs from the others in that I will volunteer full time on a service-research project with members of management and hospital administration.
My goal of attending medical school is as competitive as it is expensive. I will fund as much of it as I can myself, and investing in this educational and philanthropic experience I hope will help set me and my application apart. And while incredibly grateful to be accepted into the Fellowship, the cost of the program alone is $8,600 (£7,00) before airfare and other expenses.
This leads me to my ask. I would greatly appreciate any help you may be able to provide to help me fund these impactful philanthropic projects. No gift is too small, and every donation is greatly appreciated! My program starts in June and my first payment is due at the end of April. Please help in any way you can!!
With sincere thanks,
Imogen
