Help Imelda's Heart, Support a Veteran Dad

Hello, my name is Justin. I am trying to help my father and mother with their medical expenses that recently came up.

My mother recently went to the Philippines to visit family, and while she was there, she ended up getting an infection and then was hospitalized for a heart attack.

Imelda is needing to go to Manila to have an angiogram completed by the cardiologist. That will determine what surgery she is to get, either an angioplasty or bypass. That is scheduled for the April 15th time frame.

My father has his health insurance from the military but is still required to pay 25% of the total cost as his co-payment. We are assuming $4,500, give or take, before insurance covers the rest.

My father is 75 years old, retired military, and he is still working at a grocery store stocking dairy. This man has so much energy it surprises me still.

My father stayed here in the States while my mother went to visit family. So, we already got his tickets to the Philippines, and he flies out tomorrow.

I am asking for a little help with the expenses as the cost for plane tickets back and forth from CDO (Philippines home) to Manila, hotel expenses, my mother will need a caretaker while in recovery depending on what surgery she gets, medication that insurance doesn’t cover, and plane tickets back home.

They want the surgery to be done in the Philippines as it’ll be cheaper in the long run, and she can’t fly back Stateside until she is cleared by the doctor.

My father tried to get the house refinanced, but because the house is still undergoing remodeling, that wasn’t able to happen. He was able to get a small personal loan, but it won’t be enough to cover everything.
