***This campaign is for the ongoing direct support of the Al Eryan family in central Gaza. The donations are collected and spent concurrently on the family’s survival needs and any extra is saved to pay travel fees when the crossing to evacuate re-opens. When their campaign summary says that they are “close to their goal” it is misleading because as long as the borders for travel are closed, the goal cannot be met.***
My name is Molly and I'm an American citizen helping raise money for my friend Imad Mahmoud Al Eryan in Central Gaza.
Imad and his family have been displaced for 24 months after their home in Nuseirat was completely destroyed by bombing. Currently, they live in a tent in the city of Al-Zawaida.
After 2 years of genocide, Gaza's infrastructure is destroyed. Food, medicine, water, and shelter supplies, are difficult to access and priced very high. Without a source of income, the El-Aryan family relies on the generous donations from their supporters to survive each day and save money towards paying evacuation fees when the border opens for travel.
This campaign has 2 main goals:
1. Raise funds to pay for day-to-day survival needs.
2. Save any extra money for travel fees when the Rafah crossing reopens.
Funds will be used for food and water, clothing, medicine for Imad's grandfather, and various essential provisions for living.
Money from each transfer will also be set aside as savings for an eventual evacuation through the Hala Travel Agency.
Donations will also cover bank transfer fees to wire the funds from my bank to his as well as purchasing e-sims needed to continue communication.
With help from campaign donations, Emad was able to enroll in English classes and has greatly improved his skill in the language. Mastering the English language is one of Emad's goals so he can find work and finish his studies once able to emigrate.
There will likely be additional travel and resettling costs once Imad and his family reach their new home and begin to rebuild their life in safety.
Due to the restrictions of GoFundMe, it is necessary that someone outside of Palestine hosts the fundraiser and transfers the money via wire transfer between our banks, which I have done for his previous campaign and will continue to do with this campaign. With the demolition of infrastructure in Gaza, this method is not the quickest way to get direct mutual aid to Imad and his family, but it is a reliable and sustainable way to continue to send funds from people who want to help, as this will be a long and expensive process for the Al-Eryan family. ❤️
Message from Imad:
“The war stole my friends and loved ones with whom I was studying, and deprived me of my education due to lack of electricity and water and the collapse of educational institutions. We have also lost our only source of income, which has made us live in harsh conditions in the midst of obscene devastation, without any means to secure basic needs. My only dream now is to get my family out of Gaza to a safer place.
I’m trying to raise 80,000 US dollars to help my family leave this hell and seek a decent life away from war and destruction. These funds will be used to cover the costs of travel, visas, and initial shelter in a safe country, and daily necessities like food and water until we have enough saved to evacuate.
I appeal to you from the bottom of my heart to contribute any amount, small or large. Every donation can make a difference and save my family from this suffering. If you can’t donate, please share this campaign with others; maybe you’ll reach someone who can help.
Thank you for your support and standing with us in these difficult times.
Donate now and help us build a new future. ❤️
