Colorectal cancer is the second-highest cause of cancer deaths. It is the third-highest cause of new cancer among men and the fourth-highest cause of new cancer among women in the United States. It is estimated that 106,590 new cases of colon cancer and 46,220 new cases of rectal cancer in the United States will be diagnosed, and it is estimated that 53,010 deaths will occur in 2024 due to this cancer.
Peripheral artery disease is a critical manifestation of atherosclerosis, characterized by the accumulation of plaque within the arteries of a patient's lower extremities, such as their legs and feet. This chronic condition poses a life-threatening risk, often severely impeding the ability to walk and even necessitating amputations. It's estimated that more than 12 million Americans and 200 million individuals worldwide are affected.
To address colorectal cancer and peripheral artery disease, our community needs to know about these health conditions and encourage them to get screened. One way to raise awareness is through a book that educates the community about these two health conditions.
You can help save lives and encourage screenings by donating towards the creation of a book about colorectal cancer and peripheral artery disease.
The books have been written. The book needs to be illustrated. The goal is to raise $2,550 to pay for the books to be illustrated by Jasmine Mills, an African American freelancer (small business owner), and the GoFundMe fees.
YOU CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
Thank you in advance for your help, and let's do this!
