My dear friend Illina is suffering from a very painful and debilitating auto-immune disease called Psoriatic Arthritis and Psoriasis.

There is no cure, and flare ups can come at anytime. This disease puts her in the ER frequently and flare ups are so debilitating that she can not work the concierge job that she loves. Recently she can barely handle her basic needs such as making meals or opening the car door to drive to appointments, and even getting dressed or brushing her hair is painful. One look at the pictures of her flare up and you can understand.

After watching her suffer with this recent severe flare up and being unable to work for the last few weeks, I finally persuaded her to let me start this gofundme.

With your help, there is hope for Illina!

Treatments are expensive and many come with side effects, but there is hope for remission if she is able to get the right treatment;

A new team at UCLA medical is trying to come up with a plan, but the recommended treatment is a new biologic, and each monthly injection can be up to $7,000. It is unknown whether Medicare will cover this, especially if more than one injections is needed.

She may also have an option to go back to her Team at Mayo clinic Arizona where she received successful treatment that provided remission for a long time. She will need help to cover travel cost, copays, and any medication not covered.

Since meeting her 20 years ago I have watched Illina always giving back. Whether it was to her community, volunteering for several non-profit groups, or heading up the Orange County chapter of Make-a-Wish Foundation. This is in addition to being a dedicated mom of 4, and a friend who always shows up for others. This is a woman who constantly gives, and now needs some help!
