My name is Ikhlas, a young Palestinian woman from Gaza, and today I am experiencing the most difficult days of my life.

For over a year now, I’ve been living in a small tent that barely shields me from the harsh winter cold or the blazing summer heat. Our home was completely destroyed in a bombing — in one single moment, we lost everything: our shelter, our sense of safety, and the small family business that used to provide for our daily needs. It all vanished, as if the ground beneath our feet had disappeared.

I come from a background in information technology (IT), where I was studying and working to build a better future. I was determined to move forward despite the darkness around me. But even that was taken away… my only laptop was destroyed — and with it, my ability to work, to study, and to support myself with dignity.

Today, I can’t study. I can’t work. And even more painfully, I can’t provide for the most basic needs — for myself or my family.

I’m asking for your help not just to survive, but to live with dignity.

We are constantly displaced. Every time we try to settle or rebuild a bit of stability, we’re forced to move again. Each displacement drains what little resources we have left. We’re stuck in a cycle of starting over again and again — and it’s exhausting.

Today, our biggest struggle is food — finding it, affording it, cooking it safely. Prices are soaring, and even the simplest ingredients have become luxuries. Clean water, proper nutrition, and decent shelter are no longer guaranteed.

✨ I am still a dreamer.

Despite everything, I haven’t lost my dream. I still believe that I deserve a chance — a chance to live a normal life, to support my family, to laugh without guilt, to eat without worry.

My dream right now is simple: to put food on our table, to replace my destroyed laptop so I can work again, and to help my family breathe a little — after months of suffocation.
