The guy in the photo above is Igor. He is an artist, a writer and a designer. With his design and consulting work he helps people achieve their dreams. And he’s homeless. To clarify, he is not living on the street, at least he has avoided that most of the time in the past five years thanks to kindness of his friends and strangers and hard work.
Hi, my name is Susan Penrod. Igor has been a friend of my family for around 15 years. I believe in Igor, his talent, integrity and his willingness to always help other people without ever asking for anything in return. I also believe that sometimes, all someone needs, when down on their luck, is a helping hand up, to get them back on their feet. Especially when that person is doing everything in their ability to help themselves, and it’s just not enough.
In October 2016, after finishing his first book in print and working on intense design projects for his clients over period of ten months, Igor has suffered a “burn out”—loss of focus, loss of short term memory, stuttering and has been recovering since. In January 2017 he has developed further health issues. He is recovering, but he cannot work at the same intense pace as before.
Igor and I were talking the other day about his predicament, and I said "what about a Go Fund Me campaign?" That’s how this campaign came about.
What would help his recovery is for him to have a stable place of his own to live in and freedom of mobility. The best solution for that is a used Class B RV, it is a little larger than a van so there’s enough to room live in, but much smaller than average RV so it can be used as a vehicle and can be parked almost anywhere.
We are trying to raise $15,000 to help Igor improve his living conditions and recover so he can continue to create more art, writing and to help other people reach their dreams with his work.
Please donate what you can, even $5 brings us closer to the goal, and please share the link on social media to get this message out.
Make sure to leave your email address, as Igor would like to send a thank you gift to the people contributing to this campaign.
