Our family is facing one of the most difficult chapters of our lives.
My husband, Igor Borysov, a loving father of two young children (ages 7 and 10), has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma. At just 52 years old, this diagnosis has changed everything overnight.
Igor is a loving, present father and the steady foundation of our family. He is the kind of person who shows up quietly, consistently, and with strength — for his children and for everyone around him.
In November, Igor experienced sudden, severe pain that left him unable to move. A visit to the emergency room led to the discovery of a small 6 cm mass behind his lungs.
Since then, he has done everything possible — exploring every accessible option — hoping to stop its progression. Despite all efforts, the condition has continued to advance.
Igor underwent a biopsy and then faced a long and difficult wait at home for answers before receiving a confirmed diagnosis.
During that time, the situation changed rapidly.
The mass has now grown to over 20 cm.
He is now experiencing significant pain and difficulty breathing. Watching this progression has been heartbreaking.
Igor has begun immunotherapy, and we are holding onto hope that his body will respond. At the same time, we are actively exploring additional treatment options, both locally and abroad, including in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, and Israel — to give him every possible chance.
This journey brings not only emotional weight, but also ongoing treatment expenses and a reduction in our family income, as Igor is not able to work at full capacity.
We are reaching out for support to help us navigate this time — to cover treatment-related costs and to provide stability for our family as we focus on his care.
We are doing everything we can, as quickly as we can, to give him every possible chance.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease this burden and allow us to focus on what matters most — his health and our time together.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page would mean so much to us. ❤️
Thank you for your kindness, your support, and for keeping Igor in your thoughts.
With gratitude,
Larysa
