Jeff, who was fondly known as Iggy to most of his friends, was the kind of guy who loved to help those in need. He worked hard, played hard and was not shy when it came to letting his opinion be known. Iggy spent the past decade living with and caring for a pair of brothers who relied on him for companionship and care. When he wasn't serving as caregiver, he teamed up with his brother Jim, his good friend James Bachison and a number of other local contractors, painting houses or replacing roofs.
Jeff, the beloved son of the late Dale and Catherine McGran of Rock Glen, grew up with four brothers and two sisters. He was a natural athlete who excelled at baseball and made the West Hazleton High School varsity team as a ninth grader. He enjoyed the outdoors, beers with buddies, and walks with his best friend, Bytor, a white German shepherd. Iggy may be gone but his memory lives on in the hearts and minds of his many friends. Fly high!
Iggy passed away without insurance or money in the bank. Contributions to Jeff's funeral fund are greatly appreciated. A memorial gathering will be held in March. Watch for details.
