Many, if not all of you, know Idis (our local translator from Peru) who volunteers her time during our surgical missions to help with the success of our mission, but also to care for the Peruvian people. She can use our help and donations. I'm assuming many of you know her story, but I will summarize for those who do not.  Originally from Cuba, she came to Peru to help support her family due to poverty they were experiencing in Cuba. Things have not been much better in Peru and she has been trying to obtain a VISA to other countries for years, with no success. She now has the opportunity to go to Spain, which hopefully is the chance she needs to better her situation, her family's situation, and chase her dreams. She has met all the requirements and dealt with all the red tape, except her VISA requires her to have 4500 Euros ($5100) in her bank account before allowing her to come. With the job she has in Peru (teaching Italian and English) it would take her over a year to save that amount. Her opportunity is now. She has to have the money by the end of the month if she is going to be able to take the opportunity in Spain. She is very proud and did not want to ask for help, but has no other option. I'm hoping that our FACES team can pull together to help her accomplish her dreams. I do not know a more deserving person than Idis. Our goal is $5100. Anything that you can donate ($10, $20, $50, $100, or more) will be helpful. She does not want this open to all of social media so this is only going to FACES team members.
