Hi my name is Helen, a physiotherapist based in London. I am fundraising for a good friend of mine, a physiotherapy colleague that lives with his lovely family in Gaza. I have visited Gaza to support humanitarian healthcare projects and had the pleasure to get to know Ibrahim during this time.
In his words below, he describes how he is struggling to be able to access the simple things that we all take for granted, to be able to have somewhere safe to live and be able to provide necessities such as food.
He has generously been supporting orphaned children in Gaza, in addition to his own family, whilst grieving for the loss of many lives that were precious to him (including his sister).
Hello…my name is Ibrahim Saada, from Gaza, Palestine. I am married and a father to three daughters. I was deprived of a safe life without any reason. We were living in beautiful, quiet days before the events of 7 October. We had a lovely house, where all my family lived together. We lived in peace in our home and our country before these unfortunate events, where we were abandoned and the lives we once knew are now unrecognisable.
We have been displaced many times. Our home has been completely destroyed and we have lost all our possessions.
We are homeless and living on the street in every sense of the word…I hope that you will support me and support my family, which also includes my parents and eight of my brothers.
These generous donations will enable my family to obtain food and safe water and help us to find housing.
