I’m Teena, Ian’s mom. Early Tuesday morning, Ian experienced a massive seizure. He is at Swedish Medical Center First Hill. The cause of the seizure, and subsequent smaller ones remains unclear. Many tests have been done, and many things ruled out, but we still don’t know what we are dealing with. Ian is not under sedation and we see glimmers of him through the fog his brain is in. Each day we see micro improvements and each day we rule out another possible cause. Celina and I have not left his side. We are handling and advocating the SCI stuff to allow the ICU team to focus on the brain stuff. It has been a terrifying rollercoaster. Ian has many loved ones and supporters and many are asking how they can help. There is a meal train set up, and we have thus far been spoiled with culinary love from Celina’s work family at Harborview. We are staying at the Silver Cloud Hotel just a 5 minute walk away, swapping out every other night. The cost of the lodging, even with a medical discount is $1500 per week. Parking is $20 per day. Celina is missing work. We will remain right here no matter the funding received, but we want to offer this vehicle for those that want to help in this way.
