Help Ian Overcome Health and Financial Hurdles
Donation protected
So far, this year has been a doozy for Ian. As you may know, he already has abdominal spasms that often interfere with work, burning through all his paid time off, but this year has brought a couple of back-to-back surprises.
First, in February, while at work, his truck was hit by a distracted delivery driver, leaving Ian with a nasty concussion that turned into post-concussive syndrome, and caused him to miss seven weeks of work. Thankfully, Workers Comp covered most of that.
Then, in the first week of May, while on limited duty as he's still recovering from the concussion, he was suddenly gripped with chest pain and was unable to breathe properly. This sent him to the hospital for weeks. The lower lobes of both of his lungs collapsed, causing pain and pneumonia. He also had pockets of stubborn and difficult to remove gunk around his lungs. He was hooked up to tubes and wires and was 12 hours away from surgery when his body started to improve.
He's home now and slowly regaining his strength and health. That said, he has a PICC line and has to administer an IV of antibiotics daily until the end of June, at least. Since it is not yet clear if his lung condition was caused by demo-related debris at work, Workers Comp is not covering this.
That means he's not getting paid. Bills are piling up, his rent is due, and medical bills are on their way.
Ian is a proud man who would never ask for help, but it'll be weeks or longer before he'll see another paycheck.
This is the time for those of us who love him to rally around him in support. If you are able, please consider giving what you can. Every little bit will help him stay afloat until he is able to get back to work.
