Hello my name is Ian Martorana i live in Woodstock Ontario Canada and i have been dealing with cancer since early 2018. This all started when i had swelling, pain in my throat and it was hard to swallow. I went to my family doctor several times but wasn't given the proper care i needed or requested several times, i needed to get an endoscopy (oral scope) to see what was going on but needed the doctor to order and wasn't getting anywhere with that. One day i was out for dinner with my fiancee and the pain was so bad i couldn't swallow my food so we went to the ER and after waiting till the next morning in the ER i was given an emergency endoscopy. The doctor who did the procedure said it was the worst he has ever seen in a 34 year old male and couldn't get the scope down thru to see whats going on cause it was so swollen and inflamed. They did a biopsy and 2 days later they called me to tell me that it is Esophageal cancer to be precise Adenocarcinoma. So then started the whirlwind that was to become my life, i had to stop working (with no compensation), i had to find a new place to live (no income), i had to prepare for the biggest battle of my life and i didn't even know it. Things became very dark very quick and i saw who my real true friends during this time they have helped me thru this a lot. Then began my journey back home (Regina, Saskatchewan) my parents wanted to help me thru this and they did somewhat but in the end they made things far worse. I was in Saskatchewan for less then 3 months and went Thur radiation and chemo therapy there but came back to Ontario for surgery. The surgery didn't go quite as anticipated it took a few hours longer than expected due to some complications and the end result was i experienced post op delirium for several days which if don't know is literally a living nightmare you cant wake up from. This caused me server trauma and still does to this day. On a good note they removed my esophageal cancer and they said the markers were clear on all the tests that it was removed and i was in remission. That only lasted for a month before all the symptoms started to come back this time pain in my right side by my lower ribs and after months of tests they found out it had spread to my adrenal gland becoming adrenal carcinoma but it came from  my esophagus so we didn't stop the spread. Booked a surgery to get it removed but by the time we got to surgery it has spread to the surrounding areas including the renal artery so it couldn't be removed and shouldn't be removed to better my chances of survival.So after that i get radiation all set up cause its the best option but before any of that i get a large lump in my left lower back very painful and sensitive go to get it removed for testing and they dint remove it all so i had to go back 1 month later to get a golf ball sized chunk out of my back and after a biopsy of it, it came back skin cancer (Squamous cell carcinoma) totally new totally different then the other types of cancer i have been dealing with and still to this day they cant find on origin for it which is mystery to both me and every doctor i have talked to. I went for radiation after that and it seemed to have worked for calming it down, But recent scans shows its growing again.So i am stuck with little to no answers of what to do besides just do scans every 3 months and wait till i get bad symptoms then start another round of chemo that will last 6 months and have me extremely sick. The doctors don't know how i am not in a hospital bed at the moment and don't expect me to be around for very long so i am trying to prove them wrong and beat this cancer. I need help to do this nothing in this world is free and nothing is cheap anymore i am on disability but that's not enough to live off of in a month so my wonderful fiancee has been helping me out since the begin with whatever is needed; Food, driving, money, support, airfare anything i have needed shes been there but that's put her into a fare amount of debt and now to the point where she cant help me out anymore cause shes trying to catch up so were dealing with that on top of the cancer on top of daily struggles with stress and anxiety and also just trying to have a normal life but i am unable to even support myself and she cant keep supporting us both. The most recent problem is being unable to keep insuring my car and paying for the gas to get to and from all my appointments disability gives me 40c/km which doesn't even cover the gas let alone anything else or the wear and tear for driving all over Ontario to go to doctors appointments. We will take any help we can get. I am at the point were i can afford my rent or my insurance and gas for the month.
