Help Ian Heal and Recover

Not His Happiest Birthday…

I am creating this GoFundMe campaign for my son Ian. Just two days before his 40th birthday, he received devasting news – he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of testicular cancer – non-seminoma mixed malignant – which spreads rapidly and requires immediate treatment.

Within a week, he had undergone surgery to remove the cancerous testicle, but a follow-up CAT scan revealed that the cancer had already begun to spread. Now, he is enduring three-months of chemotherapy treatments that are leaving him constantly drained, fatigued, and nauseous. As a result, he is unable to work to support himself.

Ian is one of the kindest, warmest people that I know. An avid outdoorsman, he loves to backpack and camp, and he also loves to care for animals. Right now, though, he has no choice but to pause his work during the treatments, and recovery will likely take a month or two more after those treatments end.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 to cover:

• Rent and basic living costs for the next 4 – 5months

• Medical-related transportation and essential expenses during treatment

• Support during his period of recovery, before he can return to work
