Help Ian Get a New PC to Pursue 3D Modeling Work
Hey, GoFundMe! To cut to the chase and without giving you too much to read, here is an abbreviated version of my campaign, what it is, and why!
"I am making a GoFundMe campaign after a very sudden move and a bit of a financial crisis. I had to move back in with my family and leave almost all of my possessions back in another town. I've had to get a new job and basically start a whole new life. This campaign is my attempt and hopefully finding some help in financing a computer (as I do not have one) so that I can start 3D modeling again and developing marketable skills and making small amounts of money on the side! I'd also love to use it as a way to job search and keep in touch with my friends and loved ones I had to leave behind!"

"If you've read this far, this is kind of what I'm left with. If you feel like being generous and helping me furnish my new room with a computer, I'd love the donation!"
To those who might be a little more curious about me and why I am doing this campaign, or to those who want to be more invested in the story before commiting to a donation, thank you for reading this far along! I hope you find this at least interesting enough to consider pitching in to helping me added a computer.
How I Got Here
Without getting too deep into my personal life, I shared an apartment with a loved one. Due to job transitions, family relations, and amassing debt, it became a better option for our paths to part. My only real option was to move to a different town and into my parents spare bedroom, where I am working a transitional job and trying to get my individual debts caught up (as well as car repairs). As you can see, very little of my stuff was able to come with me. I work, but most all of my paycheck is directed toward paying off and fixing my car, overdue bills, etc. My big priorities.
Why $1,250? Why For a Computer?
This number is a conclusion I came to when considering my needs for the computer; 3D modeling with an appropriate processor. The cost isn't exclusively for the PC itself; as I mentioned I dont have a current one. This means that I also don't have a mouse, a keyboard, or a desk. I don't even have a television to use as a moniter. The total of the fundraiser is meant to cover all of the peripherals I would need as well as the computer itself! The good news is I do have a drawing tablet from previous artistic endeavors for more involved organic sculpting such as Zbrush.
But Why Do You NEED a Computer?
Leaving behind the rhetoric for what a household computer means in the year 2019/2020, it's definitely difficult to attempt to build any sort of personal career without a computer. I struggle to manage my resume, my emails, my job search is restricted to what my Samsung S7 smart phone will tolerate me doing. These are small quality of life enhancements I would love, but my desire for a computer goes deeper than convenience.
I am an artist. I sculpt, prototype, and build costumes and cosplays. Below, I'll add a picture of one of my pieces;

(All of my costumes and supplies got left behind in storage... :c )
This is a passion of mine; costuming as an artform. I feel as though I'm ready to take the next step and move my medium to digital 3D modeling (and in the future, printing), and I can't do that without a computer. Unfortunately in my current circumstance, my meager paychecks are all spoken for. This is all a basic idea of what a computer means to me. In the next little section I'll outline my actual goals so this whole thing stays cohesive.
I Outline My Actual Goals So This Whole Thing Stays Cohesive
My first task is to finance each individual computer part and build it myself to maximize on performance and cost. After that, rather than drone on in prose about my goals, I'll shoot a quickfire list of what I want to get done with a computer;
• Keep in touch with friends and professional contacts from home
• Rewrite my resume and look for more meaningful or better paying work
• Begin transitioning from clay mediums to 3D modeling, and use this as a means to develop a more marketable skillset for future career opportunities
• Be able to use the drawing tablet I already have in order to refine my digital art skills
• Finance my own 3D printer and begin using 3D modeling skills toward creating physically printed works for costumers and commissioners
• Stream my progress and work as an opportunity to pay forward the good will of others, and help inspire and teach
• Create a Patreon if successful with streaming to truly take off toward my final goal
• Build my own small business as a freelance crafter, making props, models, costume pieces, and more!
In closing, I made the decision to start this GoFundMe campaign at the encouragement of others. A good friend of mine told me "We often feel worse asking for help than giving it," and I would like to thank each of you personally for reading this far.
Thank you for your time, and maybe even your donation!
