We are a family of faith. A father, a mother, five children… and today we are living the deep pain of having one of them unjustly detained.

My name is Erika, and together with my husband, we have done everything possible to raise our family with hard work, effort, and dignity.

But everything changed with one phone call.

Our son, Ian Daniel, was detained by ICE—

despite having legal status in this country, despite studying, working, and living responsibly.

He is a noble young man, full of dreams, who has never committed a crime.

Since that moment, it has all been uncertainty, heartbreak…

and a constant race against time.

We have done everything in our power:

✅ We already submitted evidence.

✅ The legal process has already begun.

But despite all of that, our son remains in detention.

Ian has always paid for his own immigration processes.

He has served his community. He loves this country.

And yet, today he is behind bars.

As parents, our hearts are broken.

And even more so when the system now requires us to come up with an amount of money that is completely beyond our means.

To take the next legal step and fight for his release,

we need to hire a specialized legal team—

and the cost is $25,000 dollars.

We never imagined asking for help like this.

We feel embarrassed. We’ve always worked hard, without stopping.

But today… we can’t do it alone.

Somos una familia de fe. Un padre, una madre, cinco hijos… y hoy vivimos el dolor profundo de tener a uno de ellos detenido injustamente.

Mi nombre es Erika, y junto con mi esposo hemos hecho todo lo posible por sacar adelante a nuestra familia con trabajo, esfuerzo y dignidad.

Pero la vida cambió con una llamada.

Nuestro hijo, Ian Daniel, fue detenido por ICE,

a pesar de tener estatus legal en este país, haber estudiado, trabajado y vivido con responsabilidad.

Es un joven noble, lleno de sueños, que nunca ha cometido ningún delito.

Desde ese momento, todo ha sido incertidumbre, dolor…

y una lucha constante contra el tiempo.

Hemos hecho todo lo que ha estado en nuestras manos:

Pero, a pesar de todo eso, nuestro hijo sigue detenido.

Ian ha pagado siempre sus propios trámites migratorios.

Ha servido a su comunidad. Ama este país.

Y aun así, hoy está encerrado.

Como padres, nos duele el alma.

Y más aún cuando el sistema nos exige reunir una cantidad que simplemente ya está fuera de nuestro alcance.

Para poder dar el siguiente paso y luchar por su liberación, necesitamos contratar una defensa especializada, cuyo costo es de $25,000 dólares.

Nunca imaginamos tener que pedir ayuda.

Nos da vergüenza. Siempre hemos trabajado sin parar.

Pero hoy… no podemos solos.

Y cuando se trata de un hijo, uno hace lo que sea necesario.
