We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and a deep sense of urgency to ask for your support for our dear friend, Ian De Vera, and his family during an incredibly difficult time.

Ian has been diagnosed with Myeloid Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that attacks the white blood cells. Luckily Ian’s cancer is localized to a tumor in his sinus cavity and has not spread to his bone marrow, however the treatment does include intensive systemic chemotherapy. As he bravely undergoes treatment, his journey has already been met with serious complications. Most recently, Ian suffered a brain bleed due to dangerously low platelets (a side effect of his treatment) and is currently in the ICU fighting for his life.

This battle is not Ian’s alone! It is one his wife, son, family and close friends are fighting beside him. The emotional and physical toll is enormous, and the reality is that this journey will require both Ian and his wife to take significant time away from work to prioritize healing, caregiving, and being fully present for their family.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to help ease the burden of lost income, support their family’s day-to-day needs, and provide the flexibility to focus fully on Ian’s treatment and recovery. The funds raised will allow them to stay together through long hospital stays, ongoing treatments, and the unpredictable path ahead without the added worry of financial strain.

The road ahead for Ian is a long and challenging one. Myeloid Sarcoma requires intense treatment, including chemotherapy, hospital stays, and specialized care, which comes with a heavy financial toll. Unfortunately, Ian’s insurance and personal savings are strained to cover the costs of this life-saving care. That’s where you come in.
