My name is Nancy German and my brother is Ian Campbell.

It is a rare thing for me to ask for help publicly, but my little brother has just been through the worst month of his life and I'm trying to relieve some stress.

Ian's partner, Maureen, passed away unexpectedly and three weeks later Ian suffered a major stroke, most likely caused partly by the stress of losing his partner.

While in rehab, his cash savings disappeared from his apartment, which would have prevented some of his getting behind.

As of now, he has very limited ability to be mobile due to almost complete paralysis of his left side.

He is alone in the Nashville area as my other brother and I live across the country. We are trying to make sure he is safe if he returns home.

Ian has lost more than two months of income being in two hospitals and now a rehab, and it is his desire to go home but he will need adaptive equipment and a ramp among other nursing care needs.

He is behind on two months of rent and other bills as he hasn't been able to work.

Insurance covers some things, but he will also have major medical bills.

Despite all the bad things that have happened to him, he keeps telling me funny stories, has great sarcastic observations on the rather 80's dull place he is in right now, and is trying to stay optimistic.

Today he walked for the first time with a quad cane. Made me cry to hear it. A major accomplishment!
