The Giovanni Melton Foundation is a 501c3 non profit organization aimed at educating against violence against the LGBTQ community and also providing resources for the well being of the LGBTQ community.

Hi, my name is Ian Ayers I am a intersex trans masculine person.

I’m 56 years old and socially transitioned for the most part in 1986. I attempted to start

hormone replacement therapy several times and access and

affordable testosterone was a challenge for me. I was diagnosed intersex in 1994 and had karyotyping done as well.

In 2014 I was finally able to both access hormone replacement therapy and have it covered by insurance, legally changed my name that year as well and was finally able to afford top surgery in 2020 .

I thought gender affirming lower surgery wasn’t going to be until my dr informed me it was possible, there are surgeons that work with intersex people and the surgery is medically needed .

My surgery, will be covered by my insurance. I have to raise funds for airfare round trip, food, and lodging for two days.

Usually, I would have money saved however our car hit and was totaled by a hit and run driver. I’m humbly asking for your assistance. We are not able to find any doctors to help me in NV, so we found a doctor in San Francisco, CA with the kind of surgery I will be needing to be performed. I will be traveling there for the consultation to see if they will be able to help me with surgery. My doctor's appointment is on Monday 11/24/25 and I would be returning Wednesday 11/26/25.
