Ian is one of the most outstanding individuals I've been blessed to meet on this Earth. His hardworking spirit, resilience, compassion, and kindness have all stuck with me since the day that I met him. He is a strong man and not the type of person to ask for help, but instead the type to help others even under the most difficult of circumstances, which is why I am asking you for your help on his behalf. As to respect his privacy I will spare many of the personal details of his story, but in the last few months he has had to endure the loss of multiple people very very close to him, and simultaneously he has had to move back into his mother's home to care for her and help support his family while she battles with cancer. The circumstances he has found himself in are what many would consider to be a worst-case scenario and I can only imagine the hardship he has had to endure through these trying times. His strong spirit and work ethic can no doubt provide for all of his and his family's needs, however, I sincerely ask anyone whether you have personally met Ian or not to provide whatever support you are willing and able to provide to help make sure he, his mother, and his loved ones are able to not only take care of their needs but also have access to any commodities that may bring comfort or hope in such a time.
Message to the Cliff Jumping Community/Family: Ian has not only helped carry and revolutionize our sport with his extreme athletic ability and extreme technical skill but he has provided so many of us with a friend, an inspiration, and a role model as to how to treat others and to live life. Please, if you can afford to donate to this cause, do it, either because Ian was your friend or because you care about the community and want to help the members of our family, who make it so special, in their time of need.
