Hello, my name is Kameisha Foster-Wynter, and I am reaching out on behalf of my mother, Hyacinth Foster, who is courageously facing Stage 5 kidney disease.

Watching a mother’s health decline is something no child is ever prepared for. My mother’s kidneys have now reached the point where they can no longer function on their own, and she is about to begin life-sustaining dialysis treatments. This marks a critical turning point in her journey — one that brings both hope for more time and serious challenges ahead.

As dialysis and related treatments begin, the physical toll on her body will be significant, and the financial demands on my family and me will increase rapidly. Dialysis, medications, frequent doctor visits, lab work, transportation, and specialized nutritional needs are essential for her survival, yet many of these costs are not fully covered and must be paid out-of-pocket.

Adding to this strain, we are still recovering from Hurricane Melissa, which caused damage to both our home and our small business. This unexpected loss has greatly reduced our income at a time when medical expenses are about to rise sharply.

While my family and I are doing everything we can, we cannot carry this burden alone.

Right now, my focus is on ensuring that my mother can start and continue her treatments without interruption, and that we can explore every medical option recommended to improve her comfort, strength, and quality of life. We are taking this journey one step at a time, leaning on medical guidance, faith, and prayer.

Hyacinth is a loving, selfless mother who has always placed her family before herself. Even in this difficult season, she remains more concerned about others than her own suffering. Her quiet strength, grace, and resilience continue to inspire us, even as our hearts ache watching her endure so much.
