Hux is our almost 6-year-old family Frenchie.

He was the only male and the runt of his litter.

Our family was blessed to have him come to us during the start of the pandemic.

He has been there through it all, to comfort us and add bundles of love & joy to our hearts since.

He is such a sweet, good, and very silly boy!

He is adored by his 3 sisters, his brother cat (I think, lol), and of course, Daddy & myself - Mom.

Unfortunately, at the very end of July, he started having unusual symptoms and health issues that wouldn’t subside. We do our best to care for him, even if it means waking up every hour, still.

We took him for a vet check-up on August 1st, and he required more tests and treatments. At first, his doctor eventually diagnosed him with Hypothyroidism and started him on a twice-a-day medication. It did not have any impact, and more examination and specialized tests were required. We then traveled to another island for it.

On October 2, we received the devastating news that Hux is diagnosed with Cushing’s disease. Even though it isn’t the outcome we would hope for, we now have answers to all our whys and can further help and treat Hux the best we can on this new ongoing health journey.

Next step, we travel off-island again to perform an ultrasound and start him on new medication for his Cushing’s. Two weeks from that, more tests to ensure meds are working.

All who know us closely know how much Hux means to us and how reluctant we feel to ask for help.
