Hi, we are raising funds for a very special little boy named Hutch.

Hutch is Dan and Jess’s six-year-old son. If you don’t know Hutch, he is the most incredible little human—he never stops making us laugh and brings so much joy into our lives. We’ve never had so many nicknames for one child—Uncle Hutchy, Huckleberry Hutch, Cracker King... He is pure magic, and we believe that magic will help light the journey ahead.

Yesterday, our world changed when Hutch was diagnosed with a brain tumor. While doctors are still working to get more answers, what we do know is that he has a long and challenging road ahead. Hutch will undergo surgery this Thursday at Seattle Children’s Hospital, followed by what will likely be many months of treatment. We’ve been told his hospital stay could be two weeks—or even months. No family is ever prepared to hear words like this, especially when they’re spoken about a child.

Hutch isn’t facing this alone. He has two devoted parents, a loving big sister, Sally (9), and an entire community who loves this family deeply. With Christmas just days away, this family will be spending the holidays not at home, but in the hospital.

Jess is the founder of a growing startup, Morepeas, and Dan works a 100% commission-based sales job. Between extended hospital stays, time away from work, travel to specialists, and mounting medical bills, the financial burden is quickly becoming overwhelming.

We are creating this fundraiser for one simple reason: so this family can focus entirely on Hutch’s healing—without the added stress of financial uncertainty. Our hope is to surround Dan, Jess, Sally, and Hutch with as much love and support as possible, so Hutch can focus on being a kid and facing this fight with comfort and care.
