My name is Hussien, and I am an 18-year-old Palestinian who has been living in a tent since October 7th, 2023, when an Israeli airstrike reduced our family home to rubble. Overnight, my mother, my sisters, and I were left with nothing—no shelter, no belongings, and no way to protect ourselves from the cold, hunger, and constant danger.

We now live in a makeshift tent in northern Palestine, struggling daily to survive. My mother, who once kept our home warm with her love, now trembles from the winter chill. My sisters, who should be in school, live in fear of what each new day will bring. As the eldest son, I carry the weight of providing for them, but with no work, no resources, and no safe place to go, I feel powerless.

We did not choose this war. We did not choose to be homeless. But with your kindness, we can choose hope.
