“My name is Hussen Abu Bashar. My house was bombed and destroyed because of the war, and I had to flee with my family of five children and my wife to another place. We now live in a refugee camp, living under the shadow of war in very difficult conditions, with a lack of food, water, and medicine.

I am a patient with chronic inflammation in the cartilage of the knees. I need surgery and joint replacement. I suffer from high blood pressure and need daily medication, but I am trying to find a safe haven and shelter for my family, far from the war, so they can live their stolen childhood, go to school, and have a future like other children.

I also help a poor family consisting of a mother and two orphaned children who lost their father and have no one to support them. I consider them like my own children.
