Help hurricane rescue Bear beat Heartworm disease

Hi, my name is Sandra Spears and on 9/6/21 my son who was in Louisiana volunteering to help the victims of Hurricane Ida recover came across several abandoned animals. Bear was one of the innocent animals neglected , starving & fending for himself. He was covered in mud, fleas & ticks. My son took him to the vet in Louisiana and gave him baths. My son & his friend were able to transport Bear from LA to Ohio then to our home in New York where we will give him his furever home. Our vet said he has roundworm, tapeworm & hookworms which were we gave him medications for and is free of those worms now. He is currently being treated for Giardia. He also tested positive for heartworms & needs an xray & ekg to see the extent of the damage. He will then need treatments for his heartworm. He also needs another test for his kidneys. Any amount will be greatly appreciated to help us help Bear recover. Im so glad to say he gained 2lbs since we got him & he is strong willed. There is so much hope & love in his eyes.
