Help Huntley Get Her Service Dog, Chief

I’m creating this GoFundMe for my niece, Huntley.

Most of you know Huntley and the incredible challenges she faces every day.

Earlier today, my sister reached out to a local service dog training company here in Northwest Arkansas to ask about training a service dog for Huntley if we were able to provide the dog ourselves. She was told that training typically costs $30,000–$40,000 and can take up to 12 months.

Shortly into that conversation, the man she was speaking with paused and told her he had just remembered a situation involving a dog they trained a couple years ago

He shared that a 3-year-old German Shepherd named Chief, already trained for mobility support, had recently become available. The dog was trained for a woman who sadly passed away recently. Her daughter now has possession of him and shared that her mother’s wish was that her service dog go to someone who truly needs him.

What makes this moment even more powerful is the timing. Just last week, before my sister ever reached out, the daughter had contacted the training company asking if they knew of anyone who would truly benefit from the dog someone she could donate him to. When the guy on the phone connected the stories, the daughter said she genuinely feels like this her mom is coordinating all this from above.

Huntley has complex medical needs. She is nonverbal, non-ambulatory, and has epilepsy. A service dog could be life-changing for her not only by assisting with mobility, which this dog is already trained for, but also through additional training to support her epilepsy, including staying with her during seizures, helping alert a caregiver, providing safety, and offering comfort during recovery.

Because this dog already has a strong training foundation, instead of requiring a full year of training from the beginning, he would only need approximately 6 months of additional training to be ready for Huntley. This cuts both the training time and overall cost nearly in half, making something that once felt impossible suddenly feel within reach.

This opportunity is time-sensitive. We need to have the funds raised by February 14 to secure him and move forward with training. Total cost will be almost $25,000 by the time it’s all said and done.

God works in mysterious ways, and this is an opportunity that almost never happens.
If you are able to donate, we are incredibly grateful. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing. shares are just as meaningful.

Thank you for supporting my sister and loving Huntley as much as we do.
