Help Hunter Get Back On Her Feet

Hi Everyone, my name is Hunter and I'm looking for support to stabilize me by helping me pay for my rent, therapy, vet bills, transportation, and food after a series of tough months has left me in a difficult place financially, physically, and emotionally.

I graduated from the University of Maryland with my MFA in Creative Writing in May, but due to my sister having a stroke, I had a difficult time launching myself into a good spot with finding and securing employment upon graduation, and can't rely on my family financially to help me keep up with my rent and living expenses as they try to support my sister's rehabilitation and disability after her stroke.

In June, my cat Comet had a series of emergency vet visits that I have had to charge to my credit card, costing me over $1000 this year for visits, tests, and medications, without answers. He is still sick, possibly needing to return to the vet or go to a specialist.

I also am currently without a car after my car was involved in a hit and run in the parking lot of my apartment complex, causing $5000 in damages and leaving me unable to drive to or accept job interviews that I can't walk to, as public transportation and Ubers are expensive. My car is not expected to be ready until July 19th at the earliest, significantly impacting my ability to stabilize my income, start working, and get myself in better shape for August's rent.

I have trudged through many stressful scenarios in the last 2 months, and have been trying desperately to secure something for my future. I can't afford to leave my apartment, as many places have income requirements and I have no current income, don't have money for moving costs, and live 500 miles from family to help me move/consider the possibility of moving back to Michigan.

I'm hoping what I'm asking for isn't too much, though it might help me stay in my apartment for another month while I try to find a full time job and pay off my other expenses. I appreciate any support you could give me during a time where everything seems to be going wrong and I try to get myself back on my feet.
