I am asking for donations for my 5-year-old lab's emergency amputation surgery and vet expenses. In early January, Hunter developed a small limp that multiple vets could not find the answer for. Hunter's pain and discomfort have increased tremendously, and in March, a tumor finally developed in his front shoulder. Once it was biopsied, it was confirmed as bone cancer, one of the most aggressive and painful cancers for dogs. Thankfully, it has not yet spread, and he is a great candidate for surgery.

As some of you may know, I am a single mother of a 1.5-year-old boy, and on my own, unfortunately, I cannot cover the cost of Hunter's surgery and the additional vet expenses.

Any size donation helps put Hunter on the road to recovery. Dogs adapt quickly to amputation, and we are hopeful that after surgery and healing, we will see the happy, playful Hunter we know and love. Hunter has been a loyal companion and emotional support throughout a troubled marriage, the difficulties of separation, and single motherhood.

Without the surgery, Hunter's cancer will eventually spread, the pain will become unbearable, and the risk of bone fractures increases. In that case, I would have to put Hunter down, which I really do not want to do. He still has so much life in him, and I so badly want to see him healed and out of pain so he can continue being the fun, loving pup for my son to grow up with.
