Help Hunter Matava
Hunter Matava is 18 years old. He’s going into his sophomore year at Central Connecticut State University. He helps his grandparents, who raised him, and they’ve both had some pretty serious health problems lately. Most days when he’s not in class or at work, he’s at their place cutting the grass, fixing stuff, whatever they need.
A couple of weeks ago, he was in Ohio helping some friends out. They didn’t have a ride. On the way back, his car started smoking. Pulled over. Grabbed what he could with the two people riding with him. Not even five minutes later, the whole thing was on fire on the side of the highway. Lost a bunch of his stuff right there.
No car now. Had to take a bus all the way back to Connecticut. He got home, found out insurance wouldn’t cover it. Then, just to top it off, Ohio State Police sent him a bill for $3,000 for “roadside cleanup.”
He works full-time for a small family construction business, but with rent, student loans, gas, and food, it’s a lot. This extra hit is brutal.
Hunter’s the guy who’s always helping other people. He’s the Philanthropy Chairman in his fraternity and spends his free time raising money for families dealing with ALS through the Live Like Lou Foundation. Now he’s the one who could use some help.
We’re trying to raise $5,000. That’ll pay the $3,000 bill, and whatever’s left can go toward getting him another car so he can keep getting to work and school.
Anything helps: a few dollars, sharing this page, whatever you can do.
Thanks for reading and for helping him out.
God bless.
