Help Hunter in his time of need

Thursday August 19
On Wednesday August 18, Hunter underwent a 10 hour surgery to take skin, muscle, and fat from his left outer thigh and move it to the damaged calf on the same leg. He went in at 8:30 am and returned to the recovery room at 6:30pm. He seemed to be doing well and they were pleased with how the operation went. He returned to his room at 10:00pm. He had a little complication at around 2:15 this morning and had to be returned to the OR at 5:00 am. The area around the muscle started to turn purple which is an indication that the blood was not flowing as well as they liked. They assumed the vein was kinked and took him to the OR to investigate. It was found that the vein was kinked and there was some clotting as well. They hooked up another vein that was in the piece of muscle they replaced and in the process nicked the artery that was there. They sewed it up and as of now things seem to be moving along nicely. He is out of surgery now and is in recovery. We are waiting until they come get us to go see him. He has a long road ahead of him and we can't thank you enough for supporting him as he makes this journey.

Much love to you all and God bless.
Love the Chisholm Family.

EDIT:
HUNTER HAS COME ALONG WAY SINCE TUESDAY.
He had a surgery to debreav the wound on his calf which has taken most of the upper muscle from his left leg. He has a long road ahead of him with many surgeries to reconstruct and rebuild the calf muscle. He will walk again but it will take months of rehab and physio.
His words are ". Mom, I will grind and push myself above and beyond to get back to where I need to be. My backs against the wall and I have nowhere to go but forward."
We thank you all for your support

On August 3, a tragedy befell Mindy, Marc, Hunter, Mackenzies and Colton family.

Hunter, their 15 year old son was involved In a tragic and traumatic dirt bike accident resulting in significant injuries.

Hunter will likely be the biggest fight in his life. The journey to recovery is a battle only those that have survived will truly understand. He’s strong, he’s determined and he’s stubborn… He also is surrounded by so many of us praying for recovery.

Hunter and mom and dad (Mindy and Marc) are now in Halifax at the IWK being treated by an amazing team of angels. Hunter has undergone the first of what may be many surgical interventions and this afternoon he was able to be taken out of intubation.

This will be an incredibly long journey for the Chisholm family… this could have been any one of our kids…. accidents happen. We all wish we could take away some of the pain and trauma but time is the only thing that can help heal.

What we can do is attempt to alleviate the financial stress this family will face.

None of us wake up in the morning and plan for this to be the day that everything changes.

Financial stress is a controllable variable we can help take away from them. Please help if you can… everything helps.

Take care of each other and hug your babies… we just never know what tomorrow will bring.
