Help Hunter get outside
Donation protected
Meet Hunter, a vibrant 6 year old little boy who loves every aspect of the outdoors. Hunter was diagnosed with SMA, a rare neurological muscular disease, when he was just 18 months old. Hunter is confined to a motorized wheelchair, which greatly limits what he can accomplish outdoors. Hunter is often left out of everyday normal playtime because he is limited to mainly indoor activities. Hunter is not able to go splashing through puddles or go exploring through the late December snow drifts because his power chair will breakdown. Even though he pushes his chair to the limits outside, it is often prone to breaking down or leaving him stuck in wet grass.
Hunter first saw the Action Trackchair about a year ago and fell in love. The Trackchair is a tracked wheelchair (sort of like a little miniature tank or bulldozer) that would allow Hunter to explore the outdoors with his family and friends, without the worry of breaking down or getting stuck. Unfortunately like most adaptive equipment it is not covered by insurance and deemed "not medically necessary". Hunter is asking for your help to get out and explore.
