Help Hunter Garstin Get Back on the Road
Donation protected
My nephew, Hunter Garstin, was paralyzed at the age of 16 in a wrestling match. For the past 10 years, he has worked and struggled, mentally and physically, to live and thrive despite being confined to a wheelchair. He is one of the few survivors of the mental and physical toll unexpected paralysis takes on a young person. This past spring, he graduated with his master's degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. He is currently looking for a job in hopes to help businesses create a positive workspace for everyone.
In the last month, his conversion van that he has been driving for 10 years finally bit the dust. He is now without any transportation. This setback has really affected him and, as his aunt, I cannot sit back and watch a kid who has worked so hard be crushed by something a caring community can provide. One might say, well, he's an adult now, he should be able to buy a car. Unfortunately, it's not that simple. A modified vehicle, even used ones, start in the range of 60K and go up from there to around 80K. This puts him at another very unfair disadvantage. I think with a little help from our friends, we can get him back on the road and back in positive spirits and hopeful once again for his future.
Any small bit helps, and I know he would be so grateful to anyone who even helped him the tiniest bit. This kid has worked so hard, and I have seen him triumph against so many odds. Let's do this for him!
