Help Hugh to get better and secure a future !

Hi, my name is Delia and I am asking you for help.

My daughter´s father and ex-husband is going through a very difficult time in his life. It is always hard to see the ones you love suffer, so for me, it is not easy to sit here and do this, but the will to help him is stronger than my barriers.

Last March Hugh started feeling sick, generally felt unwell, lacked energy and his health started deteriorating very rapidly, but the worst was yet to come. In June 2023 he started having seizures, at the beginning of the summer they were one a week or two, at the moment they getting more frequent. He is unable to drive now and needs constant help and supervision. He has been diagnosed with Hemochromatosis and PNES, but we are still going to a Neurologist and doctors to find out more, as he continues with the seizures on a weekly basis. Sometimes when he gets very stressed he can even have 5 or 6 seizures in a row.

At the moment he is unable to work, and as a result he is having financial difficulties. His home is for sale, and his business is on the brink of closing down. Being in this situation is only aggravating his condition. As you can imagine, seeing all these three pillars of his existence, i.e. Health, Home and Work crumbling under his feet, sent his stress levels sky high.

All the funds we raise will be used to stabilise his housing situation and help him to carry on with medical bills and hopefully enable him to continue working and support himself and his daughter.

Hugh has changed from being a very independent and self sufficient person, to somebody who cannot leave the house on his own anymore, he cannot drive, he may have a seizure at any given moment. All of this has destroyed his self confidence and any possibility to lead a normal life.

The funds raised will go towards general bills, mortgage repayments of his home as well as medical bills, hoping to find correct medical treatment so he can regain his health. That would enable him to continue working, maintaining his business and keep a roof over his head.

Myself, my daughter and, off course, Hugh would be very appreciative about your generosity and we sincerely wish that other people might not find themselves in a similar situation. Illness brings vulnerability to all of us, but with the compassion and generosity, as human beings, we are able to support each other in these difficult moments.
