Help Hudson’s Open Heart Surgery Recovery

Dear Friends, Family, and compassionate supporters,

On January 16th, Haylee and Grant’s sweet baby boy Hudson was rushed to the pediatric ICU when a routine cardiologist appointment took a horrifying turn as they notified that their son was in heart failure and needed immediate attention. He was admitted into the children’s hospital that evening. Less than one day after this discovery, several scans were performed to confirm that Hudson’s condition was critical. The next day Hudson was scheduled into the OR to have open heart surgery to undergo extensive corrections to multiple areas of his heart. The surgery performed was nearly 11 hours long, and Hudson emerged from the surgery a Heart Warrior. He is now on a road to recovery.

Of course, insurance coverage will help a portion of the care that was given to Hudson, but unfortunately, life outside of the hospital walls is less forgiving.

Resources for travel, nourishment, as well as all of the financial obligations to keep a roof over their heads have taken a detrimental blow. Haylee’s family medical leave and PTO (Paid Time Off) had already been completely exhausted when Hudson was born 3 short months ago. Haylee was only able to return to work for 4 days before their world turned upside down. As any caring mother would do, she will remain in the hospital to take care of her son until he is able to be brought home because no infant should be left alone in a hospital. This has left them to rely completely on Grant’s income, which as many new parents know, is nearly impossible.

Every contribution made will help ease the financial burden that was unexpectedly placed on these loving parents, because no parent should have to worry about finances while their baby is fighting for their life.
