Hi there, my name is Tatiana, and this is my dog, Hudson. Some of you may know us, but for those of you who don’t, thank you for taking the time to read our story.
I rescued Hudson from an animal shelter about a year ago. At the time, I was used to visiting shelters on tough days, bringing treats for the dogs and just spending time with them. One day, I decided to check out a new shelter. I was walking around when I saw him—Hudson was just sitting there, staring at me. While all the other dogs were barking and jumping around, Hudson was calm and still, just looking at me. It felt like an instant connection.
I learned that Hudson came from a hoarding situation and had been severely emaciated. I immediately asked about fostering him and picked him up the very next day. From that moment on, it was clear—Hudson was meant to be mine. A lot of people say you’ll have one dog in your life that’s your true best friend, and for me, that’s Hudson. He’s been by my side through thick and thin, always there with love and comfort.
However, now it’s my turn to help him. A few months ago, Hudson jumped off the couch and landed awkwardly. His joint swelled up, and he began limping badly. I took him to the vet, and he was diagnosed with Lyme disease, which was thought to be the cause of the swelling. He was treated with antibiotics, but the swelling didn’t go down. After seeing a second vet and having a radiograph done, we learned the truth: Hudson has a chronic fracture in his left tibia, a torn ligament, and loose bone fragments. Unfortunately, because the first vet missed the fracture, the leg healed improperly, causing even more damage.
Hudson now needs surgery from a specialist to fix his leg. I’ve done everything I can to give him the care he needs, but the cost of the surgery is far beyond what I can afford. Hudson has brought so much joy and comfort into my life, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure he gets the best chance at a full recovery.
I’m incredibly grateful for any assistance you can offer. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page with others would mean the world to both Hudson and me. Thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this challenging time.
With love,
Tatiana & Hudson
