Our sweet baby boy, Hudson, was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), a condition that makes it very hard for his lungs and heart to work the way they should. From the very start, Hudson has been showing us what true strength looks like. He is our little fighter, and every single day he teaches us about resilience, hope, and love.
Life in the NICU over the last month has been a rollercoaster of emotions—moments of fear, moments of hope, and moments of pure gratitude just to see our little boy’s strength. Every day brings something new. Some days Hudson needs more support to help his body rest and heal, and other days we get to celebrate victories like a steadier heartbeat, calmer breathing, or just the peace of seeing him sleep comfortably.
As most of you know Hudson had his CDH repair surgery, and we are so thankful to share that his incision is healing well. He’s also been able to make some incredible progress since then—his PICC line was removed, which is such a huge accomplishment for him. Now, all of his medicines are given through his feeding tube, another big step forward in his journey.
Right now, we’re still unsure how long our stay in the hospital will be. Hudson continues to make small improvements that mean so much. We are currently weaning him down on respiratory support, and the doctors are hopeful he may be able to switch to a high-flow cannula in the next week. That change would be a major milestone—it would finally give Hudson the chance to begin trying to eat by mouth. Something so simple for most babies will be such a huge victory for him, and we’re holding on tightly to that hope.
As parents, we’ve been by his side every day, celebrating his progress and comforting him through the setbacks. The uncertainty is overwhelming, but our love for Hudson and the support from family, friends, and community keep us going.
We are reaching out because the financial burden of long hospital stays, specialized care, and being away from work is overwhelming and too much for us to handle on our own. Every bit of support we receive—whether it’s a donation, a share, or a prayer—allows us to focus fully on Hudson, where our hearts need to be.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for lifting Hudson up and helping us stay strong for him. We believe in miracles. We believe in our village. We believe in Hudson.
