Hudson was born a happy healthy baby on 9/29/2017. Unfortunately, at only 9 months old he was diagnosed with an incurable terminal genetic disorder called Gauchers Disease type 2. After seeing the top geneticist in the state of Georgia and being refused care, we, Hudson’s parents, were told to put our 9 month old son on hospice care. We were told he would have no quality of life, never walk, talk, and wouldn’t live to see past the age of 2.
Today, Hudson is a happy, growing 5 year old who is defying all the odds. Myself, Hudson’s mother, has refused to take no for an answer and I am determined to help my son live HIS BEST LIFE, Lord willing.
These past 4+ years have not come without many challenges, hurdles, and mountains. We have met every one of these obstacles with our coat of armor and have put all of our trust and faith in our Father in Heaven.
Since 2018, we have traveled from Georgia to the DC area every 3-6 months to see the top geneticist in the country for Gauchers Disease. We have since added an immunologist in Northern Virginia, and in 7 short weeks we will be adding the top pediatric neurologist in the country to the list.
On Friday, February 10th, I received the call and Hudson has been accepted as a patient by Dr. O. Devinsky, director of NYU Langone’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center.
Hudson and family will be traveling to DC and then NYU for 1.5 - 2 weeks the last week of March and the first week of April. After visiting with his geneticist and immunologist in DC, we will then drive to NYU where Hudson will be seen by Dr. Devinsky neurology. Following the initial appointment, Hudson will then be placed inpatient at the hospital at NYU for for further testing.
This GoFundMe is being set up in hopes to help pay for travel expenses and out of state medical expenses. Hudson is such a miracle. He has, is, and will continue to overcome all the odds stacked against him! As his mother and greatest advocate, I will forever go to the ends of the earth to ensure Hudson continues to live HIS BEST LIFE!
