Help Hubie Beat Cancer: Urgent Surgery Needed

Update: Thanks to those of you who have donated! Because of your generosity I was able to get Hubie into his initial appointment with the surgeon.

The good news first: Hubie is doing good and his prognosis with surgery is still good. The bad news: although actual surgery costs could have been more, they still came in at the high end of the cost scale (goal adjusted down a bit). The vet also said that these types of tumors are very unpredictable and we could find ourselves in an emergency situation should the tumor burst. I am going hard on this fundraiser over the weekend I hopes I can get him in next week. Please share this out on your social media to help me get the word out! -Jared

Hubie is a 4-year-old French Bulldog. He is my best buddy and is the E.T. to my Elliott. He is an old soul and has a knack for staring into your heart and soul to know exactly how you are feeling at any given point in time. He's there to provide "snuggies" when needed and has been with me through all the turbulence of life since he was 8 weeks old. Pronounced “hyoobee” is aka as Hubes, Hubalicious, & the Hubilator.

At what I thought was going to be a routine appointment for Hubie (shots and taking care of an ear infection for his brother, Binx), the vet found a mast-cell tumor on Hubie that is cancerous and needs to be removed ASAP.

His prognosis is good if we can get the tumor removed right away. As many of you know, I have been laid off work for a good while now and have just recently relocated to Salt Lake for a fresh start. I have a couple of good prospects for work and will hopefully know something very soon. (Update: I started a new job on Monday 2/10 but I won’t get my first paycheck until the end of the month)Because this is serious and will get worse as time lapses, I want to get him into surgery as soon as possible.

Any funds raised beyond the actual surgery cost will be used for follow up appointments, post surgery recovery needs and snackies.
