Help Hubert in his fight against brain cancer

In August of 2020 Hubert had his first seizure, after which he was admitted to a neurological hospital ward near Warsaw, Poland. His diagnosis was uncertain at that time, and an ischemic stroke was suspected. In January of 2021 he had a second seizure. Imaging of the brain revealed a large tumor, which was operated  on the 26th of January. Histopathological studies revealed it as a grade IV glioma, also known as a glioblastoma. With surgery it was possible to remove the bulk of the tumor, but this is only a temporary solution due to the invasive nature of this type of cancer which can then return in a matter of months. 

At this time Hubert is awaiting radio and chemotherapy, which are the only treatment options available for him in Poland. Although these methods slow progression, they take a toll on the body and are often unsuccessful against this type of cancer.  In addition to the above treatments, investigational treatment in Germany can further slow down the progression of the cancer. However, this treatment is not covered by insurance. 

Hubert is a proud husband and father to three boys, 6 year old Julian, 2 year old Tadek and 2 month old Niko. We are asking for help covering the cost of the treatment in Germany. Any help is appreciated and every dollar brings us closer to making sure Hubert gets the necessary treatment.
