On Tuesday, January 28th our dear friends, Leanna Carlson and HUANG Fei were involved in a roll-over car accident in Prince George, British Columbia. https://ckpgtoday.ca/2020/01/28/highway-97-crash-at-northwood-pulpmill-road/
HUANG Fei sustained an injury and, with Leanna at his side, was transported by air ambulance to the Vancouver General Hospital spinal unit for surgery.
Emergency medevac flight to Vancouver, CT and MRI, surgery, ICU hospital stay, and assistance with future rehabilitation are all major expenses. This is a serious financial hit to a self-employed artist, especially when the costs in Canadian Dollars versus earning power in Chinese Yuan (~5:1) are factored in.
HUANG Fei was preparing to return to China after spending a month in Western Canada sharing his expertise and enthusiasm for traditional 'Blue & White' (Qing Hua) underglaze painting.
