Hello, thank you for being here with me.

I’m ANDROS, a hard-loving, deep-feeling transwom*n, flagrant queer, voracious artist and persistent hum*n seeking your support.

These funds will provide two months of safe housing + utilities, an urgent car repair and the start of my legal name change.

With the help of this community of care, I can:

-Quickly get into an apartment, breaking a painful, 5-years-long cycle in and out of stable housing.

-Maintain access to safe transportation with an urgent car repair and updated registration.

-Support my physical/mental/spiritual health as I medically accessorize my gender euphoria with hormone replacement therapy, electrolySIS and top surgery!

-Begin my legal name change, affirming my full identity and improving my safety as transperson.

I’m proud of all I’ve survived.

You find me forged in fire. My childhood of spiritual abuse and reparative therapy, marriage to a partner lost in addiction and painful journey to heart-body-soul-healing has left me exhausted and smiling, hope-fully.

This year, I survived months of anti-trans comments from coworkers that culminated in a traumatizing attack.

I was accused of misconduct by my attacker and investigated as a predator for using the wom*n’s bathroom.

My employer found no issue with my conduct. They apologized for my mistreatment and confirmed access to facilities that correspond with my gender and a safe workplace without harassment.

After these incidents, my emotional and mental health spiraled.

The resulting depression, fear for safety, embarrassment from my coworkers’ public brutality and the violating investigation left me depleted. With diminished access to employment and well-being, I was unable to afford rent and have relied on family, friends, strangers and sleeping in my car since last May.

Through it all, I have learned that my gender affirmation is necessary for every level of my security.

Physically being perceived as a wom*n is a tool for protection. Having a name matching my identity with all employment/legal records will also help. Finding a safe place to live is the biggest support of all.

It’s a precious, scary feat we undertake each day - finding food and shelter.

It’s more precious, and much less scary, when we do it together.
