Help Wildland Firefighter JT Bailey and Family

It is with heavy hearts we share the loss of the family home of JT Bailey and his family  (a crew member of the Feather River Hotshots)  along with most of the fire station where they lived, to the Bear Fire in Butte County.
Fortunately JT , his wife and their three children are all safe and staying with family in Napa, but everything they possessed in the world is gone. They weren’t able to grab anything at all- from important paperwork, sentimental instruments and memory cards full of family videos to family heirlooms.

As most of you know they lived in a family home at the fire station in the cozy mountain town of Berry Creek. It was a dream come true for them and living up there was beautiful to put it simply.




On the night of September 8th (Jeanette’s birthday), while JT was fighting and protecting other families and homes at a different fire in Shasta Trinity National Forest, 10 firefighters whom the Baileys know and love dearly, tried desperately to save their home from the 200ft walls of flames but they lost they battle. Meanwhile two of those firefighters homes were burning too. The firefighters had to shelter in place in a nearby parking lot and listen to everything burn around them. JT arrived to the scene the next morning and there were many hugs and many tears and many “we wish we could have saved your house, we are so deeply sorry” But the Baileys and all of us are so deeply thankful for those firefighters and their safety.

The Baileys will now begin the difficult journey of re establishing a new home replacing all that was lost. Please help us help them.
