We Need Your Help!

In the global fight against the virus pandemic, medical personnel and first responders are putting  their lives on line to treat patients affected by the corona virus. They are going above and beyond their call of duty, continuing the treatments while often lacking the required protection themselves. To help our true heroes, FIRE team (Livingston HS Robotics Club) and the Livingston schools Tech Department have started producing Personal Protective Equipment - face shields, filtering masks, and cloth masks that are desperately needed by our local hospitals, by using 3D printers and sewing machines that were relocated from school labs to homes of Club members.  As we print the components and assemble the products, we deliver them to local hospitals and medical centers.

To date, we have donated over 200 face masks, about 100 face shields and 100+ sewn masks. Our production efforts are continuing non-stop - but we are running out of materials. Inventories at many suppliers are currently running low, and delivery times are extending. To maintain uninterrupted production, we have to quickly ramp up purchases to stack up the needed materials.

The team members themselves have been funding all our purchases so far, putting hundreds of dollars into it, - but now we need your help. Our team is looking for donations to keep us going - and ANY amount would be greatly appreciated!

We all have talents that make us unique. We are glad we can use our skills to help healthcare workers fight the nasty virus and save lives. We all have a part in this fight - please do yours and assist our efforts!

Face Shield Manufacturing story

We started manufacturing Face Shields by applying minor modifications to the design made by Prusa, in order to fit the available equipment and to speed up the manufacturing process. Visit our Robotics Club fundraising page to see the design plans for shields and masks, and to track the progress of our efforts. If you have 3D printers or sewing machines and want to join us, let us know!

Here's a short video of a team member (Brian) assembling the mask. It is worn by his mother who is treating patients at Emergency Room of our local hospital:
